The key upgrade over the BHVH3018GX is the torsion axle — standard on the GXT, optional or absent on lesser units. A torsion axle absorbs road shock independently at each wheel rather than transmitting it through a rigid beam to the frame and hydraulic components. For contractors towing a 730-lb. splitter on rough rural roads or gravel driveways regularly, this significantly reduces stress on the frame welds, hydraulic fittings, and cylinder mounts over the life of the machine. Engine guard is also standard — protecting the Honda GX270 from debris and impact during transport.

Same performance platform as the BHVH3018GX — Honda GX270, 16 GPM Hi-Lo 2-stage pump, 4.5-inch cylinder, 12-second cycle time. At 3,500 PSI the Hi-Lo pump delivers high flow for fast cylinder extension then automatically shifts to high pressure at contact for full 30-ton splitting force. For large-diameter hardwood and commercial firewood volume, this is the top of the Iron & Oak tow-behind range.
